Patralekhaa refuses to work with husband Rajkummar Rao, says ‘It’s better we don’t…’

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao shared a romantic relationship for over 10 years before getting married in November 2021 in Chandigarh. The duo, for the first time, shared screens in the 2014 film CityLights, which was directed by Hansal Mehta. Despite their rising career, both stars have not appeared on the big screen together in years.

In an interview with Jagran, Patralekhaa was asked about collaborating with her husband. She revealed that although they considered working together on several projects, they ultimately didn't, and she believed it was for the best.

As reported by Jagran, Patralekhaa said, "We did come very close to doing films but it's better if we don't work together for now. I've really thought about it because I just feel like it has taken me a very long time to have my individual identity. Whatever films I am doing, big, small, it's my own journey, I am enjoying it. I hope we do work in future together but not right now."

Patralekhaa shared how the duo gets inspired and learn from each other, following being in the same field. She also revealed that she often seeks Rajkummar's input when navigating complex characters, valuing his insight as a fellow actor.

Patralekhaa, "We know which movie we're doing next, what've signed, it's always so exciting to exchange the filmmakers you're working with, the co-actors you're working with because there is so much exchange of creativity and the scripts that you're working on. Many a times when I feel a little confused and I don't know how to approach the character, I always ask him - 'How would you do it.' Sometimes, it matches and sometimes it doesn't,"

However, for those who don't know, Patralekhaa and Rajkummar are going to sart they new journey in the film industry as a producer with the upcoming comedy film title Toaster on Netflix. Teh films features an interesting cast including Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Farah Khan, Abhishek Banerjee and Seema Pahwa in addition to Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra. The film is believed to be a stepping stone for them to enter the industry as producers.
