PAT BOONE TO TRUMP: ‘BE QUIET’ — Veteran Singer Urges President to Stop Name-Calling and Act More Presidential — And He Told the Fake News to Zip It Too

Veteran singer and actor Pat Boone has delivered blunt advice to President Donald Trump: speak less, stop calling people names and allow Americans to recognize his accomplishments for themselves.

In a video message addressed directly to Trump, Boone said he considers himself a friend of the president and voted for him during his first presidential campaign.

Boone recalled previously warning Trump not to insult political opponents during debates.

“I cautioned you that you should not be doing something that makes you sound like a schoolboy on the playground,” Boone said. “If you want to be president, you should sound like a president and be presidential.”

Boone acknowledged that Trump has accomplished “a lot of things,” but said he believes the president is currently under significant pressure.

“I feel like you’re very tired,” Boone said. “I think you’re wearing out and you’re feeling the pressure and expressing yourself in ways that are not becoming to you.”

Boone then offered his central recommendation: “Be quiet.”

He urged Trump to stop repeatedly discussing the accomplishments he wants Americans to praise and instead let the public discover them independently.

“Let them discover those things for themselves,” Boone said.

The singer also asked Trump to be polite toward women and to stop calling people names. Boone further suggested that the media refrain from covering Trump for several days and skip his press conferences.

He argued that the “deafening roar of silence” might encourage Trump to adopt the humor, politeness and respect associated with former President Ronald Reagan.

“And I would like to suggest that, for the press to try something, to not say anything at all about you for a couple of days. Don’t even come to a press conference.

“Of course, you’re not wanting many of them to be there anyway, so let it be empty. Let there be nobody to ask you any questions, nobody to hear what you want to say or possibly brag about. And then, as you hear nothing—the deafening roar of silence—it may convince you that being like Ronald Reagan, and using a sense of humor, as well as being very polite and respectful, will get you more hearers, better reporting, and more support while there is still time.”

Boone concluded by emphasizing that his message was intended as friendly advice.

“I say this as a friend,” he said. “Try for just a little while to be quiet.”

Boone wrote in X:

“I’ve known and supported President Trump for many years, and I offer these thoughts in the spirit of friendship and concern. Sometimes the strongest thing a leader can do is say less, listen more, and let his actions speak for themselves.

I’m praying for our President, as I hope all Americans will, and I’m asking him to remember the example of Ronald Reagan: humor, courtesy, respect, and a presidential manner even in difficult times.

Mr. President, I say this as a friend. For just a little while, try being quiet. You may be surprised how loudly that silence speaks.”

Boone has been singing this same verse for a decade.

In 2016, after he said something kind about Trump on Fox, the future president called him on a tennis court. Boone thanked him, then told him to stop the schoolyard name-calling because it was not presidential. Trump laughed. He did not stop.

In February 2026, walking a red carpet, Boone told the Daily Mail the same thing in different words: Trump is “doing great things,” but he will not wait for other people to brag on him.

“He wants to make sure you know, and he wants his name on too many things.” Boone called him a genius, and “his own worst enemy.” He said he wished Trump had more of Reagan’s calm, so the country would wake up and say, “Hey, he did what he said.”

Boone has spent 2025 and 2026 posting these neighbor-to-neighbor videos from his own channel, praying for Trump, urging Congress to “drop the ropes” during a shutdown, even asking the president to help crypto buyers who got burned.

This latest clip fits the pattern. It is not a primary challenge. It is an old friend asking the most famous man in America to let the record speak.
