Paramount Plus’s new TV and movie releases for September 22-28, 2025, include the documentary Bodyguard of Lies and Survivor Season 49.

Bodyguard of Lies premieres on Paramount Plus on September 23, 2025. Dan Krauss helms the documentary, which explores deep and dark truths about America’s 20-year war in Afghanistan. It also shows how the public was misled about multiple aspects of the war. Viewers can see how failed war policies and strategies destroyed innumerable lives and cost the United States trillions of dollars through insider testimonies, confidential documents, previously unseen footage, and private audio recordings.

Survivor Season 49 premieres on Paramount Plus on September 24, 2025. This competitive reality series follows 16 contestants split into different “tribes” and dropped at a remote location with limited supplies. For 39 days, the tribes must survive on limited supplies. They must also engage in physical challenges that pit them against each other while offering food and luxuries as rewards. Moreover, these challenges also offer immunity, with tribes holding a tribal council meeting to vote off one of their players.

Also dropping on Paramount Plus this week are The Amazing Race Season 38, 60 Minutes Season 58, and 48 Hours Season 38.

The Amazing Race features contestants embarking on a globe-trotting adventure that includes mental and physical challenges.

Meanwhile, 60 Minutes follows a group of CBS News correspondents who cover various topics such as hard news, politics, and lifestyle.

Finally, 48 Hours explores crime cases covering a wide range of human experiences. Since its launch, the series has exonerated wrongfully imprisoned people and reopened cold cases that were previously closed.
