Macklemore was recently removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour after making pro-Palestinian remarks during one of his concerts at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Since then, he spoke up about the news while mentioning there were no hard feelings between the two. Regardless of his friendship with Ed Sheeran, it couldn’t get in the way of his moral responsibility to do what he believed was right.

Now, following the removal of Macklemore, the other openers for the tour have reportedly taken a step back as well. These include Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and the band Beoga.

While none of them hold any hard feelings towards Ed Sheeran, their motives were based on the promoter's decision to exclude Macklemore from the list of openers.

Finneas said, “Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed. I have decided to withdraw from my upcoming tour dates with Ed Sheeran. I stand with Palestine and its people.”

Aaron Rowe spoke on how close Ed Sheeran was to him as a friend and deeply acknowledged him for changing his life. “Ed has been a friend to me and has changed my life.”

However, he couldn’t just stand by and allow the billionaires who use their power to silence the rightful voices. He added, “I need to be true to myself and my ancestors who resisted colonisation and fought for the freedom that I enjoy today in Ireland.”

Lukas Graham spoke about how families were being affected due to the spoils of the war. He said, “We should be allowed to speak about war, about civilians being killed, about children who deserve to grow up. Wherever they live. Whatever flag flies over them.”

He also shared his love for Ed as well. He stated, “I love Ed. But I can’t put these words out into the world and carry on with this tour as things stand. I’s sorry we won’t be there. This is a difficult decision, but it’s one I need to stand by.”

Lastly, Beoga posted, “We have been best friends with Ed for over 10 years now and will continue to be. We were there for Macklemore’s performance and speech. We fully supported his message, and so did most of the audience. We believe in dialogue as a means of progressing the plight of the Palestinian people.”
