'Not allowed in my...': Aly Goni CLARIFIES on why he didn't chant Ganpati Bappa Morya in viral video

The past ten days were all about celebrating and worshipping Lord Ganesha. Everyone dived into divine vibes and celebrated the festival with all their hearts. Quite a few celebrities too welcomed Lord Ganesha home. Amid all of it, a video of former Bigg Boss contestant Aly Goni went viral. The video became a hot topic of discussion as it showed Aly Goni standing silently when others chanted Ganpati Bappa Morya. The video had his girlfriend Jasmin Bhasin and good friend Nia Sharma chanting Ganpati Bappa Morya with full enthusiasm while Aly Goni stood silently. This called for social media backlash and trolling. However, Aly Goni has finally responded to chatter over the viral video.

In an interview with Filmygyan, Aly Goni explained why he did not chant Ganpati Bappa Morya. Firstly, he said that he was lost in his thoughts and did not imagine that it would turn into a big issue. He also said that he usually does not go for Ganpati celebrations as he worried that he might unintentionally do something wrong. He further also explained that his religion does not allow him to do puja. He was quoted saying, "It's not allowed in my religion, hum puja nahi karte hai. We have one belief we offer namaz, we pray, and we respect all religions. It is written in the Quran that we must respect everyone, and I do."

As the videos went viral on social media, a lot a people mentioned about secularism and more in the comments. One of the videos also showed Aly Goni vibing to Ganpati celebration bhajans but avoiding to chant.
