WASHINGTON, Tuesday, March 21. Passengers who arrived to-day from City Point say: News from Gen. SHERMAN reached there on Sunday, through two scouts, who left him last week. He had occupied Goldsboro without opposition, having connected with Gen. SCHOFIELD. REPORTS FROM NEWBERN. NEWBERN, N.C., Saturday, March 18 -- 10 A.M. Parties who have arrived here from Gen. SHERMAN's army say that we shall be able to join hands with him to-morrow or next day.
