A driver crashed into protesters gathered outside a Tesla dealership in Palm Beach County, Florida, though fortunately, no one was harmed during the demonstration against billionaire Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump over the weekend, as reported by law enforcement.

This protest was one of many nationwide occurring at Tesla-associated businesses, driven by backlash against Musk’s collaboration with the Trump administration, particularly regarding cuts to federal funding and the workforce.

Incidents targeting properties with Elon Musk’s electric car brand logo are increasingly happening throughout the U.S. and abroad. Notable examples include Cybertrucks set ablaze in Seattle and gunfire aimed at a Tesla dealership in Oregon.

The Saturday protest was disrupted when Andrew Dutil intentionally drove onto the sidewalk, moving slowly into the crowd of protesters, which caused attendees to quickly disperse to avoid collision, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Dutil has been arrested and is facing an assault charge, with no attorney listed to represent him in the court records at this time.

Palm Beach County also hosts Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, which the former president has referred to as the “Center of the Universe” on social media. Together with Musk — via the Department of Government Efficiency — they have initiated the dismantling of government programs, including staff layoffs, in efforts to eradicate perceived government waste, fraud, and abuse.
