This week, Newark Mayor and New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Ras Baraka (D) entered the Delaney Hall Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center and asserted "this facility cannot be legally operated in Newark. Newark is a sanctuary city that welcomes immigrants. The planned living conditions at Delaney Hall do not fulfill the standards we require for these new Americans. ICE wants to lock them up in cages.
