As part of the TGS 2025 State of Play showcase, Koei Tecmo shared a new trailer for Nioh 3 and announced that the game’s release date is February 6, 2026. The trailer shows new details about the story, where protagonist Tokugawa Takechiyo will embark on a fight through time to defeat his brother Tokugawa Kunimatsu.
The trailer showcased the various periods of Japanese history that the game will take the players through, with these being the Heian period (1190 AD,) the Sengoku Era (1572 AD,) and the Edo period (1622 AD.) In fact, fans of the Nioh series will be able to recognize Hattori Hanzo in the trailer, a character that appeared on the first Nioh title as one of William Adams’ allies.

With TGS 2025 just around the corner, being held between September 25-28, 2025, we might be able to see more Nioh 3 footage or even gameplay, as the Koei Tecmo booth will show the game alongside Ninja Gaiden 4 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment as their featured titles.
The Nioh 3 release date is February 6, 2026 and it will come out for the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam.
