Nicole Scherzinger became sentimental at the 2025 Tony Awards while receiving the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her performance in Sunset Boulevard. “Broadway schedule is hardcore. I got to keep it real,” Scherzinger said after she beat Audra McDonald, the most Tony-winning actor in history.

The Moana star gushed, “I’m so honored to be recognized alongside these exceptional warrior women in this category. I want to thank all of you.” She acknowledged her family member for instilling “an unshakable faith” in her (via US Weekly).

Scherzinger also mentioned her fiancé, Thom Evans, who, she said, “believes in me when I forget to believe in myself.” The actress added, “Andrew Lloyd Webber, it’s happened. It’s been such an honor to create with you.”

She also thanked her co-star, Tom Francis. The singer said, “Tom Francis, thank you for letting me sever your head every single night — and every performance. To our extraordinary cast, crew, producers, and creatives, I’m forever grateful to you. We killed that matinee today, OK, literally. It’s no joke, this schedule!”

Scherzinger further expressed her gratitude to the director of Sunset Boulevard, Jamie Lloyd. The artist stated, “You saw me when no one else did. You’ve given us all new ways to dream, and you’ve changed my life forever. Growing up, I always felt like I didn’t belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last!”

Previously, Scherzinger discussed all about her much-awaited Broadway debut in a CBS Morning interview. The “Poison” hitmaker noted that the Broadway debut is something that she always “dreamed of.”

She added, “This is over thirty years in the making for me of just working and grinding. I think I am so fulfilled now to be finally able to share all of me. All of my gifts and all of my abilities.”
