And Just Like That star Nicole Ari Parker is opening up about her character’s outlandish wardrobe.

Nicole plays documentarian Lisa Todd Wexley – otherwise known as “LTW” – in the Sex And The City revival, initially introduced as a friend of Charlotte’s who she knows from her children’s school, but who goes on to forge a bond with the whole group.

While Sex And The City and And Just Like That are both renowned for their boundary-pushing fashion (look no further than Carrie’s enormous hat in the season three opener to see what we mean), LTW has become renowned for her own over-the-top wardrobe since the reboot began airing in 2021.

Speaking to HuffPost UK to promote the current season of And Just Like That, Nicole was full of love for her character’s outfits.

“I love them so much,” she said, highlighting the “absurdity” of “two purses”, or wearing “giant necklaces, while making breakfast”, referencing one stand-out look from the first instalment of season three.

Nicole went as far as saying that Lisa has given her “a lot of courage” to step outside the box when it comes to fashion.

“[She’s taught me,] why save the dress? Wear it! It’s Tuesday!” she claimed. “I still have to go to work, but why not wear the good dress, you know?”

Oh, and if you’re wondering if Nicole has ever told the wardrobe team that there was anything she didn’t want to wear – that would be a resounding no.

“Bring it on!” she enthused. “As long as I can zip it up, let’s do it!”

Elaborating more generally about her And Just Like That character, Nicole added: ““his character exists in New York City. She’s not made up. Fashionable, fabulous Black women live on the upper East side, who are married with kids, and are lawyers and doctors and art historians – and [they’re] funny and charismatic and over the top.

“So, because I know this, it’s a joy [portraying Lisa]. To play this woman in an iconic show is just the gift of my life.”

The first two instalments of And Just Like That are streaming on Now and Sky in the UK, with new episodes every Friday.
