Nicolas Cage and his late one-time fiancée Lisa Marie Presley had a fight so intense, it saw tens of thousands of dollars disappear right before their eyes
According to Priscilla Presley's new memoir titled Softly, As I Leave You: Live After Elvis, Cage was so enraged he threw Lisa Marie's $US65,000 (approx $98,559) engagement ring into the ocean.
"One afternoon, they went sailing off the coast of Catalina Island on Nic's yacht, the Weston," the 80-year-old recalled in the book.
"Something set off another of their epic fights, and Lisa pulled off her engagement ring and threw it at Nick."
In response, the now 61-year-old actor took the "stunning … six-carat, $65,000 diamond ring" and threw it right into the Pacific Ocean.
Priscilla then shared that Cage dispatched a team of drivers to find the pricey piece, but it was never found.
"As far as I know, the ring is still there," Priscilla said.

To make up for the moment of anger, the National Treasure star purchased "an even bigger diamond (ten carats), and they got engaged all over again," said Priscilla.
Cage and Lisa Marie – the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley – had first begun dating in 2000 and wed in 2002.
However the marriage did not last long, with the pair breaking up that same year and their divorce being finalised in 2004.

Before that, she was married to the late Michael Jackson and Danny Keough.
Priscilla also spoke about her daughter's marriage to Jackson, which she was "appalled" by.
"I knew in my bones that Michael wasn't marrying Lisa Marie; he was marrying the Presley dynasty," she wrote in her new book.
The couple had started seeing each other in 1994 and surprised everyone with a whirlwind wedding in the Dominican Republic, just weeks after Lisa Marie had divorced from her first husband, Danny Keough.
Her and Jackson's marriage lasted two short years, finalising their divorce in August 1996.
Priscilla claims Jackson was trying to get "good publicity" amid claims of child molestation at the time.

It was at this time that Jackson reached out to Lisa Marie, according to Priscilla.
"Michael was a manipulative man, and I think he had his sights set on her long before she realised it," she wrote.
"The childlike innocence he projected was part of his public mask."
With Keough, Lisa Marie welcomed two children: son Benjamin, who died aged 27 in 2020, and daughter Riley, 36, who is an actress.

She later welcomed twins Harper and Finley, 16, with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
Lisa Marie died aged 54 in 2023 due to a small bowel obstruction that was a complication of a bariatric surgery done years beforehand.
