Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) entire world collapsed in Emmerdale this week when husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles) was killed in a car accident.
In emotional scenes, Jimmy explained his plan to ask Nicola to renew their wedding vows, revealing that he’d even gone so far as to book the venue.
Devastatingly, they will never get the opportunity, as Jimmy died in the car with heartbroken Nicola by his side.
Now, in the midst of her grief, she must deal with the aftermath of his death. This includes the investigation into the accident, as a new spoiler video reveals.
Nicola’s loved ones are set to rally around her in the coming days as the villagers come to terms with Jimmy’s death.
The new clip shows Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) visiting Nicola with a cake, and it turns out that he isn’t the first neighbour to pop by, as Nicola lists the assortment of edible gifts her neighbours have given her.
The pair talk about Jimmy, with Lewis branding him a good friend.
Emotional Nicola urges Lewis not to take boyfriend Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) for granted, pointing out that you never know when it could all end.
The sweet interaction that sees Lewis offer Nicola a hug is interrupted by the arrival of DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge), who has an update on the investigation.
It is clear that Nicola is already overwhelmed as she furiously begs the detective not to tell her that Jimmy is being viewed as a murderer.
Fortunately, it seems that that isn’t the case.
Viewers will know that Jimmy’s car ploughed into Joe Tate and Dawn Taylor’s (Ned Porteous and Olivia Bromley) wedding marquee, and DS Ramsden reveals to Nicola that there is evidence to suggest another car was involved.
