After blowing a 17-point lead on Wednesday and getting embarrassed by the Pacers in the East Finals opener, everyone expected the Knicks to be more locked in for tonight’s clash. Another loss at home would put them into a massive hole, with the series heading to Indiana for the next two games. Despite understanding the high stakes, Jalen Brunson and Co. failed to get the job done, yet again. Sure enough, Knicks fans were not pleased, especially with JB’s late game blunder that cost them big time.
Well, the New York team had a chance to tie the game as they were only three points down in the final few seconds. Brunson even cut down the lead to one by giving a slick pass to Josh Hart inside the paint, leading to an easy layup. Then, a series of unfortunate sequences ruined it all. JB committed a foul on Aaron Nesmith that sent him to the free throw line, and the Pacers got their lead back up to three. With another chance to tie the game, Brunson attempted a rushed deep three and bricked the shot. The Pacers ended up winning the game.
And fans blamed Brunson for the loss, “Brunson with a terrible foul and then a rushed dumb 3. He’s been the best player on the court but that was a huge mistake.”
