New romance confirmed for Sarah with local Coronation Street bad boy

Sparks fly in Coronation Street this week as the soap sets up a potential new relationship for Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

Things have been pretty quiet in the romance department for the Weatherfield legend since the breakdown of her marriage to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson). 

Fans of the ITV soap will remember that the couple split in 2023 after Sarah had an affair with bad boy Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths), who is now in prison. 

And forthcoming scenes will see another local bad boy Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) catch Sarah’s attention.

On Friday, in the Rovers Kit flirts with Sarah, who tries her best to play hard to get. 

However, it’s clear to see the pair have chemistry – could this be the start of something new?

It has been a traumatic few weeks for Kit, who recently discovered he was the real father of Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) unborn baby.

Sadly, however, Daisy lost the baby after being caught up in a hit-and-run David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) had set up to end his own life. 

Meanwhile, Kit is also set to be at the centre of a big storyline in the coming months involving newcomer Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty). 

Paparazzi pictures seemed to show young actors portraying Kit and Lou in flashback scenes, with a connection between them previously confirmed by Corrie boss Kate Brooks.

‘They are coming to stir up a lot of trouble, and open up the floodgates and unpack the past of one of our big characters, which is Kit’ she said in December.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday 11 April at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
