We’re now seven years removed from Quentin Tarantino’s last movie, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which was also the first movie to earn Brad Pitt an Oscar for his performance. By the time Once Upon a Time came out in 2019, Tarantino was widely regarded as one of the greatest working directors in Hollywood, despite only directing nine films. Before his work on Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Tarantino guided Christoph Waltz to two of the finest performances of his career in a pair of historical epics, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained. Tarantino has come under fire in the last year for his public criticism of actors such as Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard, which was so harsh that other actors, writers, and directors in Hollywood began coming to the defense of both stars in support.
