Netflix's 'Gears of War' Movie Recruits One of the Best Action Directors in the Business

The Gears of Warmovie may have found its director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, veteran action movie filmmaker David Leitchis in negotiations to take on the highly-anticipated adaptation, with Netflix producing the film for their streaming catalog. After many months of searching for a filmmaker capable of bringing this story to life, Netflix is ready to move forward with their Gears of War project thanks to the artist behind The Fall Guy. Jon Spaihts is currently working on the script for the adaptation. The writer has been hard at work with Denis Villeneuve thanks to the Dune franchise — the Frank Herbert adaptations that have taken over the box office in recent years.
