While the flashy new East of Eden adaptation took the number-one spot on Netflix's latest viewership report, another star-studded limited series cemented itself as a word-of-mouth hit after two weeks of release. Although the other show isn't based on a novel like East of Eden, it certainly wears its literary influences on its sleeve. It borrows a title from one of the most popular Sherlock Holmes stories, and embraces the narrative structure ofAgatha Christie's bestselling whodunnits. It isn't an English-language series featuring Hollywood stars, but being a Spanish-language original definitely doesn't limit its reach in any way.
