In the modern age of television, fantasy shows have brought a thrill unlike anything we have ever seen in quite some time. But beyond the scope of shows like Game of Thrones and The Wheel of Time, there is a different genre that offers up an alternate reality — just one devoid of dragons and sorceresses. Dystopian dramas offer viewers an insight into an alternate reality, separate from what we are currently used to. Oftentimes, humankind, as we know it, in these stories, teeters dangerously on the brink of total annihilation. While AMC's The Walking Dead and HBO's The Last of Us throw up such a reality via a biological virus, shows like Prime Video's Fallout bring on a post-apocalyptic reality brought on by nuclear decimation.
