Netflix's latest Nordic noir series is a late summer surprise streaming hit that puts a fresh spin on the familiar police procedural. In a brisk five episodes, Blood Sacrifice keeps the tension high, the twists unpredictable, and the murder mystery story grounded in a fraught father-son dynamic straight out of a Successionscript. When lead detective Thomas Berg (Jakob Oftebro) is faced with solving a chain of gruesome, ritualistic beheadings of Stockholm police officers, he grudgingly turns to his estranged ex-cop father, Alfred (Peter Andersson), for some supplementary under-the-table support with the case.
