Though the longest-standing issue with Netflix's 3 Body Problemadaptation has been whether the series will get to finish its story, there are bigger problems looming for the stalled show. The series, based on Liu Cixin's novel trilogy, debuted on the streaming platform in 2024 and was renewed for two more seasons the same year to ensure that the trilogy was able to play out across the right number of seasons. Created by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, the adaptation was highly-anticipated when it premiered, and despite a few bumps in the road, was generally enjoyed by viewers.
