Netflix came out of the gates hot this year, and the first project to get the ball rolling for the streamer was Stranger Things. The final season of Stranger Things kicked off its run at the end of 2025, but it wasn’t until New Year’s Day that the final episode of the sci-fi show was released both on Netflix and in theaters. Netflix quickly kept the momentum going with the binge-worthy limited series, His & Hers, starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. The next big project to hit screens was the Miami-set crime thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, The Rip, which climbed the charts on its way to becoming one of the most-watched Netflix titles ever. The most recent big release for the streamer was Apex, the survival thriller led by Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton.
