After the live-action Snow White remake didn't go to plan, Disney was hoping to sail to success with this summer's live-action Moanamovie. However, it seems that the film, released just ten years after the original, couldn't capture nearly enough interest, even if Dwayne Johnsonwas reprising the role of Maui alongside Catherine Laga'aia as the titular daughter of Motunui's chief. Alas, it wasn't to be, with fans and critics once again reacting poorly to the insistent live-action remake trend.
