NETFLIX is totally redesigning its TV home screen for the first time in over 10 years.
The new app will appear on millions of televisions around the world – and says it will be “unique” for each viewer.

It’s expected to start rolling out “over the next few weeks”, kicking off on May 19.
The revamped look – which Netflix describes as a “new TV experience” – will be available on most televisions and streaming devices at launch.
And Netflix says that it’ll add more devices over time, too.
“Finding your next watch on Netflix is about to become that much easier,” Netflix explained.
“A new TV experience is headed your way, and it comes with better recommendations and an improved interface that highlights what matters most to you.
“Yep, things are getting (even more) personal.”
Netflix teased that a major update was coming earlier this year.
Now it’s redesigning the app for real, promising to “make choosing easier”.
The company admitted that “decision fatigue is real”, referencing the difficult in picking a TV show or movie from such a massive library of telly.
Netflix has revealed four major changes coming to the app in a bid to fix the problem.
NETFLIX NEW LOOK
The first big change is what Netflix calls “simpler navigation”.
This means that shortcuts to various parts of the Netflix interface will now be located at the top of your screen – and they’ll always be visible.
That includes shortcuts to Search, Shows, Movies, Games, and My Netflix.
Second on the list is “responsive recommendations”.

That means as you’re watching and exploring Netflix, fresh recommendation rows will be “served up in real time”.
“Your homepage will respond to your viewing and browsing history,” Netflix explains.
“So you can quickly find something that suits your mood in the moment.”
The third change is the addition of something called My Netflix.

Netflix describes this special hub as a “personal oasis” for keeping track of the content you personally like.
That includes shows you’re part-way through and movies that you’d like to watch next.
You’ll also be able to find Continue Watching, My List, and Remind Me in this section.
The fourth major change is the addition of detailed info for each title.

Netflix said: “Having a hard time choosing between this show or that movie? We’ve been there.
“With the new interface, you can discover what makes each title worth the watch before you commit to pressing play.
“Preview a title’s synopsis, runtime, award wins, Top 10 history, or key cast all up-front while you browse.”
Netflix hasn’t specified exactly which devices will miss out on the update.

But you’ll be able to tell that you’ve got the new look courtesy of a pop-up.
Netflix says this welcome message will “help walk you through your upgraded homepage”.
It comes just days before Netflix is due to host its Tudum 2025 live event.
The special showcase is due to deliver news and updates on top TV shows and movies – including Stranger Things, Squid Game, and Love is Blind.
