Netflix has officially announced that Black Mirror Season 7 will arrive in 2025, with six brand-new episodes currently in production.

Back with a stellar cast including Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Rashida Jones, Cristin Milioti, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, and Tracee Ellis Ross, the latest series promises to be the best one yet.

According to What’s on Netflix, the new Black Mirror series will premiere in April 2025, but an exact date is yet to be revealed.

As part of Netflix’s Geeked Week event, creator Charlie Brooker took to the stage to tease details about the upcoming season.

Stating it will feature a mix of genres, dark satire, and the series’ trademark disturbing twists, he said: “You can expect a mix of genres and styles,.”

“We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”

In a backstage interview with Tudum, Brooker hinted that Season 7 will return to Black Mirror’s roots. “It’s back to basics in many ways,” he said.

“They’re all sci-fi stories, but there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way. There’s definitely some disturbing content in it.”

One of the biggest surprises revealed was that the new season will feature the show’s first-ever sequel.

“Fans of the show will recognise the cast of a certain spaceship from one of our episodes reappearing,” Brooker teased.

“We’ve done a sequel for the first time in Black Mirror history.

“Normally, I kill off all the characters at the end of an episode, and I kept some of ’em alive. I’m growing as a human.”
