NCIS's season 22 finale, "Nexus" features a mix of highs and lows for the Major Case Response Team (MCRT), which is a reflection of a difficult year. As CBS' longest-running procedural, the Navy Yard-set show is the network's premier action drama. In the last few years, however, NCIS has gone through various changes, particularly in terms of cast members, with a few actors exiting the show, including Mark Harmon. The project is able to move on after Leroy Jethro Gibbs' departure in season 19, but its storytelling is far from what it was during its golden years.
