Renowned makeup artist Vikram Gaikwad is no more. He breathed his last on May 10, 2025 in Mumbai. He was 65. As per reports, his last rites took place on Saturday at 4.30 pm at Shivaji Park Crematorium. He started his career with the movie Sardaar and was credited for some of the biggest films including Omkara, Dangal, Bhaag Mikha Bhaag, Sanju, Kaminey, 3 Idiots, PK, Uri: The Surgical Strike, 83, and many more. He even worked on historical drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero. For his extensive work in Bollywood as makeup artist, Vikram Gaikwad also won a National Award. Many of the Bollywood stars including Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and others mourned his loss.
Aamir Khan on his social media shared a statement and expressed grief. It read, "It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to the legendary make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad. I had the pleasure of working with him in films like Dangal, PK and Rang De Basanti, to name a few. He was a true master of his craft, and his work transformed many actors into unforgettable characters that will live forever on screen. Heartfelt condolences to the family from me, and everyone at AKP. We will miss you Dada." Ranveer Singh shared a picture of Vikram Gaikwad with a broken heart emoji. Varun Dhawan called Vikram Gaikwad a 'true magician' and stated that he helped him design his look for Badlapur. Actress Mrunal Thakur too shared a post on her Insta Stories and wrote that she is unable to believe that Vikram Gaikwad is no more.

Apart from Bollywood stars, even Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde mourned the loss of Vikram Gaikwad. On social media, he penned a note and stated that Vikram Gaikwad was 'a magician who brought characters to life on the silver screen.'
