Morgan: Killer Doll is a mockbuster based on M3GAN, a 2023 sci-fi horror about a killer AI doll. Morgan: Killer Doll hails from The Asylum, an independent film production and distribution company that specializes in low-budget mockbusters that riff on popular movies.

What happens in the Morgan: Killer Doll trailer?

The trailer for Morgan: Killer Doll previews a horror centered around grief and revenge. After a woman dies terribly, she leaves behind a murderous doll that wreaks havoc on those around her. The footage teases some of the gruesome kills, including one that happens in a bathtub.

The official synopsis reads: “When a lifelike doll begins killing people linked to a dead woman’s past, the remaining survivors must risk their lives to uncover the doll’s true nature—before they become her next victims.”

Morgan: Killer Doll stars Michael Paré, Bix Krieger, and Shelby Wright. Jose Prendes writes and directs the mockbuster.

Morgan: Killer Doll has a digital release date of June 13. The mockbuster will run in select theaters from June 20 to June 26. The theaters include Laemmle NoHo 7 in Encino, California; Aurora Cineplex in Roswell, Georgia; Film Noir Cinema in Brooklyn, New York; Hickory Ridge Cinemas in Brunswick, Ohio; and Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Morgan: Killer Doll arrives in the same month as M3GAN 2.0, the sequel that pits M3GAN against an AI military robot. Written and directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 opens in theaters on June 27.
