The tenth and final episode aired on Paramount+ on Sunday (June 1), with the events surrounding the Harrigan family and their rivalry with the Stevensons reaching a climax.

Executive produced by Guy Ritchie, it stars Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigans crime clan who is tasked with protecting the family’s interests. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren star as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan and Paddy Considine plays their son Kevin. Joanne Froggatt, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones co-star.

In NME‘s three-star review, we said: “For all the laugh-out-loud moments and intriguing plot lines, it’s hard to believe Guy Ritchie is still rolling out the same old schtick. It’s as well made a version of this show as you could expect but it’s nothing to get excited about. Lock, Stock feels like a very long time ago indeed.”

Fans of the show lauded the final episode as “one of the best season finales ever” and have called for a second season as soon as possible.

In the climactic moments of the final episode, Paddy Considine’s Kevin confronts his traumatic past and eliminates his rivals, including Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell), while Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad prepares to leave prison for discharge as he is cheered on by his fellow inmates.

As for Harry, he is offered the chance to switch sides by Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer), which he turns down. During a later argument with his wife Jan (Joanne Froggatt), Harry is accidentally stabbed, with his fate left uncertain as the episode draws to a close.

Jez Butterworth, who serves as one of the show’s executive producers, spoke to the New York Post about whether Harry is dead at the end of the season: “I mean, if you think about it, is Harry dead?” he said. “No. We’re not gonna – we love Harry. We love Tom.”

A second season of MobLand has yet to be officially announced, but given the success of the show so far, it is likely to be recommissioned.
