Millie Bobby Brown is already embracing marriage and motherhood after adopting a baby girl. No longer a child star, the British actress will continue to expand her range through more mature, adult roles. While her series Stranger Things concludes, she has a new Netflix film that could be her most serious role yet.

While Millie Bobby Brown was working on Stranger Things, she was certainly no stranger to other Netflix projects. She starred and produced the streamer’s mystery movie Enola Holmes and its sequel. Brown also had to fight off a dragon in Damsel and interact with robots in The Electric State.

According to Deadline, sources say that Netflix is in talks for a deal to land Gia Coppola‘s next movie, Perfect, with the Emmy nominee expected to lead. Coppola made her directorial debut with the film festival hit Palo Alto. Then, Coppola’s The Last Showgirl landed Pamela Anderson a Golden Globe nomination last year.

Perfect plans to tackle the true story of Olympic medal winner Kerri Strug, who was a member of the 1996 Olympic team, “The Magnificent Seven.” In the final negotiations to be played by Millie Bobby Brown, Strug’s gold medal win was a win like no other. Despite her injured ankle, she stuck the vault landing, with her coach carrying the young winner off the mat.

While Millie Bobby Brown has played emotional, action-packed roles, like in Stranger Things and Damsel. But, Perfect would be the, well, perfect opportunity for Brown to portray a real-life historic figure for the first time.

The UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador will highlight the pain and determination Kerri Strug faced at Brown’s age. And as sports movies like I, Tonya helped Margot Robbie enter the awards circuit in 2018, hopefully Brown finds similar success.
