Heavyweight legend Mike Tyson returns to the ring to take on YouTube sensation Jake Paul in what could be an explosive night in Texas.

Tyson, 58, retired from professional boxing in 2005 but will don the famous black trunks again to take on a man 31 years his junior in Paul.

This will be Paul’s 12th fight as a professional fighter – his only defeat came against Tyson Fury’s younger brother Tommy in February 2023.

Former heavyweight champion of the world Tyson, meanwhile, will enter the ring as a professional for the 57th time, looking for his 51st win.

When is the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight?

The fight will take place on Friday, November 15 at the 80,000 capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The stadium, which has a retractable roof, is the home of the Dallas Cowboys, one of the biggest teams in the NFL.

It has been chosen as one of 11 US venues to hosts matches during the next FIFA World Cup in 2026.

The stadium has hosted the Super Bowl, WrestleMania, USA soccer matches and a number of boxing events, including Canelo Alvarez’s victory over Liam Smith back in 2016.

Paul McCartney, U2, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Coldplay are among the superstar acts to have performed at the AT&T Stadium.

What time does the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight start in the UK?

Given the event is being held in Texas, it will be a late night/early morning for UK fight fans.

The card will start at 7pm local time on Friday 15 November (1am UK time on Saturday morning) but Tyson and Paul are not expected to make their ring walks until around 10pm local time and 4am GMT.

Katie Taylor’s undisputed light-welterweight title fight against Amanda Serrano, meanwhile, is expected to start at around 9pm local time and 3am in the UK.

How to watch Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul on TV in the UK

The fight will be streamed live on Netflix as the platform moves into boxing for the first time.

Netflix has shown golf, formula one and tennis events in recent months but this will be the first boxing event to be streamed by Netflix.

The card will be available to current Netflix members as part of their standard subscription at no extra cost.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul rules

The fight has been sanctioned as a professional contest by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). As a result, the result will go on both records.

Knockouts will be allowed over eight two-minutes rounds. No headgear will be worn and 14-ounce gloves will be used.

‘The safety of the contestants competing in the ring or the octagon is always the primary concern,’ the TDLR said.

Nakisa Bidarian of MVP Promotions added: ‘Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome.’

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight purse

At the press conference on Thursday, Paul revealed that he is making $40 million (£31.5m) from his mega fight with Tyson.

Meanwhile, Tyson is expected to earn significantly less than his 27-year-old opponent, with a figure of $20m (£15.7m) quoted by sources close to the former world heavyweight champion.

Netflix’s broadcast will be led by Kate Scott, with former world champion Andre Ward acting as lead analyst.
