Stephen King’s Carrie has been terrifying audiences for more than 50 years, and by now, almost everyone knows how this story ends. Carrie White goes to prom. A bucket of pig’s blood comes crashing down. What happens next has become one of horror’s most recognizable sequences, immortalized by Brian De Palma’s 1976 adaptation and revisited several times in the decades since. That makes adapting Carrie again a difficult proposition, but Mike Flanagan has never exactly been afraid of King's works.
