There was a time in 2023 when fans of Good Morning America wondered whether their star host, Michael Strahan, would be leaving the show. Strahan’s image on GMA was so popular that he became the reason people tuned in on ABC every morning. Obviously, no one was prepared to let go of Strahan when they heard a surprising announcement from GMA. Strahan would be a guest judge on Dancing With the Stars. Now, two years later, Strahan found himself in the midst of another offer that would have allowed us to discover a completely unexplored side of the Giants Hall of Famer.

Going back to Strahan’s brief time on Dancing With the Stars. He only appeared for their “Motown Night” episode, joining the judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. His role was to give out scores to the remaining 12 pairs looking to win the $295,000 cash prize. So, it was nothing extraordinary. Just Strahan bringing his energetic voice to the DWTS judging panel for season 32. However, this time around, Strahan was given another opportunity to appear on the hit dancing show.

On the latest episode of GMA, DWTS co-host Alfonso Ribeiro joined the show. And the moment he came face to face with his former guest judge, he couldn’t control himself from pitching a new project to Strahan. “We need you buddy. We need you,” Ribeiro said, pleading with Strahan to come on his show not as a judge but as a dancer. Ribeiro, in his desperate attempt, even said, We’ll get you a tall dancer to dance with you.”

Strahan, who stands at 6 ft 5 in, would have easily towered over his dancing companion. So that it didn’t look awkward, Ribeiro tried luring Strahan in by giving him a dancing partner as tall as him. But it still didn’t work out. Strahan was less interested in dancing and more into interviewing them. You know what I love about Dancing with the Stars, when they come here and I just get to interview them and I don’t have to dance,” Strahan replied.

The 53-year-old even added that his joints are too brittle and old for dancing. Meaning he won’t be able to handle the flexibility that is needed for dancing. While Strahan may have given a solid reason not to pursue a dancing gig, he didn’t explain something that solely survived courtesy of Strahan. But now it ain’t no more.

Michael Strahan says goodbye to a 52-year-old TV Show

Beyond hosting GMA and working as an analyst on FOX NFL Sunday, Strahan was closely involved in reviving a dead TV show. The Pyramid was largely off the air since airing in 1973. Though it was reincarnated in 2012, holding the hands of Mike Richards. ABC chose to hand over the project to their star host, Michael Strahan, in 2016. He had already proven his pedigree to head TV shows through his charming personality. So, Strahan was deemed a perfect fit on The Pyramid to give its viewers an edge while navigating through those buzzer-beating moments.

Over the years, Strahan built a rapport that stood for laughing and engaging with contestants in the most loving way possible. That’s why ABC never really thought of pulling the curtains on The Pyramid ever again. They even chose to renew it for Season 8 on March 9th. However, once Season 8 ended, and it was time for the final episode, Strahan got a bit emotional. He said, “You’re appreciated. I love you. I am thankful for season 8. It never gets boring hosting this show. It never gets boring sitting around here and being with you all, because you make Pyramid what it’s really been.”

After speaking his heart out on how much the show meant to him, Strahan gave a parting message to his Pyramid viewers. “The greatest thing about it is when I am somewhere and people come and say, We love watching Pyramid and not just for themselves but they watch it as a family..Like I said. I couldn’t do it without you all, none of us could. So, thank you all so much. Everybody, have a great night.” So, is that it for Strahan’s Pyramid? There’s ain’t no official confirmation for its renewal by ABC. Maybe it will come later. But for now, you can’t help but wonder whether that was the last time we ever saw Strahan on The Pyramid.
