Lionsgate’s Battle Cabin will be available digitally today, September 29, 2026. It is a post-apocalyptic action thriller made in New Zealand. Directed by Aaron Falvey and written by Justin Eade, the movie received an R rating for its violence and strong language.

Battle Cabin follows a family’s battle for survival in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic world. The gritty action thriller promises several nail-biting moments, as the family faces murderous thieves and other unexpected dangers.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “In the wake of a massive global attack, the world has become a brutal, lawless landscape where electricity, government, and civility are distant memories. When Kellan is forced to venture outside his secure homestead to save his wife, he is met by a wave of murderous thieves with a connection to his past. Battle Cabin stars Michael Hurst, Josh McKenzie, Delaney Tabron, Kali Kopae, Rama Marrow, Nell Fisher, and Marshall Napier. The film is produced by Emily Thompson, Justin Eade, Aaron Falvey, Timothy Hawthorne, Barry Sangster, Kevin Weisberg, Lou Paik, Patrick Garcia, and Phillip B. Goldfine.

Hurst is a notable actor and filmmaker from New Zealand, best known for starring in the television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess as Iolaus. Hurst directed the Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Ash vs Evil Dead. His credits also include Birthright, We’re Here To Help, The Map Reader, The Tattooist, and more.

Meanwhile, Nell Fisher is known for playing Holly Wheeler in the fifth and final season of the popular Netflix science fiction horror series Stranger Things.
