Atlus will adjust the prices for the digital versions of Metaphor: ReFantazio. The changes will be implemented on November 12, 2026 to match the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 port. It didn’t mention anything about the US prices, as we already can see the PS5 Steelbook is $49.99 on Amazon just like the upcoming Switch 2 release.
The price for the regular version will go from 9,680 yen to 3,990 yen ($25.25). The price for the Atlus Brand 35th Digital Anniversary Edition will drop from 15,510 yen to 5,990 yen ($37.90). These are permanent changes to the prices of the digital PS4, PS5, Steam, and Xbox versions of Metaphor: ReFantazio in Japan.
So far, only the Japanese Atlus account and website have confirmed the price change. Atlus West’s Twitter account has not posted about this (aside from a reminder that the Switch 2 port will come out on November 12, 2026). The website also does not mention if the digital versions on the other platforms will receive a price adjustment.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is an award-winning 2024 RPG developed by Studio Zero (Catherine: Full Body) and published by Sega. It shares many similarities to the Persona series due to many core members of the creative team having worked on those games. However, it’s set in a fantasy world. You can read our review of the PC version here.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. It’ll come out on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026, and you’ll be able to get it for $39.99. A demo for the Switch 2 port is available, too.
