Personal lives of Bollywood stars always draw attention. Even though many from filmy families tried to keep their personal lives personal, not all have succeeded. Here's a story of an actress who is considered to be one of the most successful ones. She has shared the screen space with top stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra and others in the past. However, she faced major hardship due to turmoil in family life.

The actress we are talking about is Moushumi Chatterjee. She has given many hits back in the day. She has been a part of big films like Manzil, Benaam, Anuraag, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and many more. But she suffered the hardest time when she lost her daughter Payal.

In a recent interview, Moushumi Chatterjee recounted the episode when she struggled to claim her daughter's mortal remains from the hospital. Moushumi Chatterjee's daughter Payal was married to a businessman. In 2018, there were reports suggesting that Moushami Chatterjee moved to Bombay High Court with a petition making a request to appoint her as Payal's guardian. As reported by India Today, the actress accused her daughter's in-laws of neglecting Payal's medical needs. She also alleged that her in-laws refused to pay the medical bills.

In a latest interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Moushumi Chatterjee spoke about Payal's demise and mentioned that the family hasn't completely gotten over it. She also spoke about going through the 'torcher' of having to go to court to meet her ill daughter. She mentioned about the effect Payal's demise had on her husband. "Sometimes he would get up in the night howling Payal's name. These things you can't explain with words," she said.

In the interview, Moushumi Chatterjee also recalled, "I went to the hospital when she was no more. She was kept in a morgue because the hospital's bill wasn't paid. I took all that nonsense."

Payal passed away in 2019. Reportedly, she was suffering from Type-1 diabetes. Reportedly she was in coma since 2018.
