The show had already cast two series regulars, but production will need to go back to the casting room to look for another actor to play Detective Maddie Paris. Deadline reports that Rosa Salazar, who was to play the character, has exited the project after the delay was announced. Salazar's departure frees her from her contractual obligations, allowing her to pursue other projects that might be of interest. The decision to end her relationship with CBS Studios was mutual and amicable.
