Marvel's THE FANTASTIC 4 Movie Rumored to Take Place Across Two Different Timelines

There’s a new rumor making the rounds online regarding Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic 4 movie. According to the report, the story for the film may end up taking place across two separate timelines.

The rumor originated from Beyond The Trailer's Grace Randolph, a YouTuber who has a 50/50 track record, but other sites are picking up on it and saying they’ve heard similar things. Randolf explains:

"The other thing that I heard was that the script has two storylines together. The comparison I heard was a little bit like Greta Gerwig's Little Women. I did not hear what the two timelines or storylines were, one in the past or one in the future."

That’s something that I can see Marvel actually doing, but I hope they don’t. I would much rather see the full story set in the 1960s. But who knows, maybe the first part of the film is set in the ‘60s and tells the story of how Marvel’s first family finds themselves lost in time and space. Then the second part of the story follows the team as they pop out into the future, and then having to deal with that. But, I see those as two different films. I don’t know!

The movie stars Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch; and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Fans have been waiting for Marvel Studios to get the rights to The Fantastic 4 so that they could make a proper movie with these characters. Unfortunately, it’s happening at a time when Marvel is in a slump. I just want this movie to tell a great freakin’ story!

Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, who was brought in to re-write the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

Fantastic 4 will hit theaters on July 25, 2025,
