Twelve years on, the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy still regarded as a genius depiction of C-level characters on screen. Thanks to James Gunn — now the head of rival DC Studios — this ragtag team of heroes ended up having a greater impact on audiences and the wider MCU Infinity Saga than even Marvel executives had anticipated.
