Marvel fans have had a lot to be excited about this year already, but it’s officially the end of an era for one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise. Most of Marvel’s focus in 2026 has been on the small screen with live-action shows like Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again, but the studio also dropped the wildly successful second season of X-Men ‘97. Marvel found tremendous success on the big screen with the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is in rarified air after grossing over $2 billion at the global box office — it’s not slowing down anytime soon, either. Brand New Day has set the stage for Avengers: Doomsday to hit theaters later this year on December 18, and after the success of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, it’s fair to say Marvel has lofty expectations for its 2026 follow-up.
