Warning: the following article contains spoilers for Marshals season 2 episode 1!Marshalsfirst season ended with the kind of momentum that suggested a major turning point for the series, but its second season premiere quickly proved that the show can't outrun its biggest problems. With Marshals season 1 ending on the cliffhanger of Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill) getting kidnapped, the majority of Kayce's (Luke Grimes) plot throughout the season 2 premiere was focused on finding his son and getting him home safely. Moving outside the law in a very Dutton way, the US Marshal did what it took to get Tate back, but Marshals season 2 didn't entirely stick the landing.
