The Toronto Maple Leafs are close to stabilizing their crease.

Anthony Stolarz is “moving toward” a contract extension worth around $4 million annually, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Sunday.

Stolarz, 31, joined the Maple Leafs on a two-year contract ahead of last season and was set to hit free agency on July 1.

Instead, he seems close to sticking around Toronto, where fellow netminder Joseph Woll is also under contract through the 2027-28 season.

In his first season with the Maple Leafs, Stolarz posted a 21-8-3 record with a .926 save percentage and 2.14 goals-against average over a career-high 34 games.

He also appeared in seven playoff games before being sidelined by injury, putting up a .901 save percentage and 2.19 GAA.

Stolarz, of Edison, N.J., was originally a second-round selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2012. He broke into the NHL with the Flyers during the 2016-17 season and also spent time with the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers before landing with the Leafs.

For his 142-game career, the goalie holds a .918 save percentage and 2.54 GAA.

He won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Panthers in 2024.
