Malcolm in the Middle Photo Reunites Frankie Muniz With Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek

Frankie Muniz shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the Malcolm in the Middle set with his on-screen parents, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.

Who is involved in the Malcolm in the Middle revival?

In December, Disney+ announced a four-episode Malcolm in the Middle revival to coincide with the show’s 25th anniversary.

Muniz reprises his role as the titular Malcolm Wilkerson, while Cranston and Kaczmarek play Malcolm’s parents, Hal and Lois.

The logline of the revival reads, “Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”

Other returning cast members include Christopher Masterson as Malcolm’s oldest brother, Francis, and Justin Berfield as Malcolm’s other older brother, Reese. Erik Per Sullivan will not return as Dewey, Malcolm’s younger brother. Sullivan’s last acting credit came in 2010. Instead, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark has been recast as Dewey.

Anthony Timpano has been cast as Jamie, Malcolm’s youngest brother. When the show ended on Fox, Jamie was only a toddler. Vaughan Murrae will play Malcolm’s younger sister, Kelly. The lone Wilkerson daughter did not appear on the flagship show. Instead, Lois announced she was pregnant with her sixth child in the series finale.

Keeley Karsten will play Leah, Malcolm’s daughter, who has the “same sarcastic humor, same impulsiveness, and the same frighteningly high intelligence” as her father, “but she’s far more sensitive and emotional.” Kiana Madeira will play Malcolm’s girlfriend.

Series creator Linwood Boomer returns as a writer on the revival. Producing director Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes. Executive producers include Boomer, Kwapis, Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann.

Disney+ has not announced a premiere date for the Malcolm in the Middle revival. Stream all seven seasons of Malcolm in the Middle on Disney+ or Hulu.
