PART of a major motorway has shut in both directions due to a police incident, leading to long delays.
The M60 has closed around Manchester between Junction 10 for Trafford Park and Junction 9 for Urmston due to a “Greater Manchester Police led incident.”
National Highways said: “Emergency services including Greater Manchester Police are in attendance.
“National Highways Traffic Officers are also in attendance assisting with traffic management.”
Drivers have been warned of delays as diversion routes have been put in place.
The traffic agency has also advised motorists to re-plan their journeys in advance if the closure affects them.
This comes as Easter holiday travel chaos struck across the UK on Friday.
Travellers had had to battle through strike-hit airports and horrendous traffic queues.
Roads have been predicted to be the busiest for an Easter weekend since 2022.

Road users travelling anti-clockwise are advised to follow the Hollow Diamond diversion symbol on road signs:
Exit the M60 anti-clockwise at J10 At the M60 J10/B5214 Redclyffe Circle roundabout, take the third exit onto the B5214 southbound At the B5214/B5158 Davyhulme Circle roundabout, take the first onto the B5158 eastbound At the B5158/M60 J9 Lostock Circle roundabout, take the fourth exit and re-join the M60 anti-clockwiseRoad users travelling clockwise are advised to follow the Hollow Circle diversion symbol on road signs:
