Part of the M25 has been closed after a waste lorry crashed into another HGV and overturned in the middle of the road.

Oil, diesel and waste have been spilled onto the major motorway, forcing the anticlockwise carriageway to close between junction five and six.

It shut around 3.45am and is expected to remain closed for people commuting during rush hour.

National Highways said clearing the spillage will be ‘extensive and complex’, and the road will need to be resurfaced.

They said: ‘The road will be closed through morning peak period.’
