Lupin Part 4: Omar Sy Netflix Show Gets Exciting Update in New Video

Netflix has shared the first Lupin Part 4 video for the long-awaited next installment to Omar Sy‘s popular spy series, inspired by the work and character created by Maurice Leblanc. This comes after more than a year since the third season made its debut with seven episodes.

“A contemporary retelling of the classic French story about Arsène Lupin, a gentleman thief and master of disguise,” reads the synopsis. “As a teenager, Assane Diop’s life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. 25 years later, Assane will use ‘Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar’ as his inspiration to avenge his father. His revenge involves a high stake museum heist where he must steal the necklace of Marie Antoinette at an auction.”

What was the Lupin Part 4 update?

In the video, Netflix confirmed that production on Lupin Part 4 has finally started in Paris, France, with Sy back on the set as gentleman thief Assane Diop. Further details about the show’s plot and characters are still under wraps. At the moment, it currenly has no official return date yet.

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time. Together with Netflix, Carrousel, and Gaumont, we’ve invested the time needed to raise our ambitions and deliver even more surprises and enjoyment, both for us and the audience,” Sy said in a statement. “The fresh energy from Carrousel Studios aligns perfectly with this vision. I’m eager to share the new episodes with as many people as possible.”

Lupin is created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan with the participation of Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rosine, with Sy and Louis Leterrier serving as showrunners. Besides Sy, the series is also led by Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard. The 8-episode next season is being directed by Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout and Hugo Gelin. It is a production by Gaumont and Carrousel Studios.
