The LPGA Tour has finalized its 2027 schedule, centering the season on a record $147 million in total prize money and a logistical overhaul designed to reduce player fatigue. The 33-event calendar represents a $10 million increase over the 2026 purse total and introduces a “smarter routing” strategy that significantly clusters tournaments by region.
According to LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler, the 2027 slate focuses on operational efficiency as much as financial growth. By grouping events geographically, the tour has reduced total player travel by approximately 12,000 miles compared to the previous season. The emphasis on player well-being was reportedly a priority during the planning stages.
The 2027 schedule includes historic debuts at iconic venues like Royal St. George’s.
Major Championship Venues and Historic Debuts
The 2027 major championship rotation includes several of the most prestigious venues in golf, highlighted by a historic first for the AIG Women’s Open. That event will be held at Royal St. George’s, marking the first time the historic English course has hosted the women’s major. The full 2027 major lineup consists of:
The Chevron Championship: Memorial Park U.S. Women’s Open: Inverness Club KPMG Women’s PGA Championship: Congressional Country Club Amundi Evian Championship: Evian Resort Golf Club AIG Women’s Open: Royal St. George’sNew Additions and Strategic Broadcast Timing
The schedule introduces two new international stops: the Futu Ladies World Championship in Hong Kong and the Nanea Cup in Hawaii.
The 2027 season also marks the return of “The Classic” at Corning Country Club. This tournament returns to the LPGA calendar for the first time since 2009 and will feature a $5 million purse, significantly higher than the prize funds typically associated with the event during its previous tenure.
Enhanced Player Financial Protections
Beyond the record-breaking total purse, the LPGA has implemented several measures to improve the financial stability of its membership. Ten events on the 2027 schedule will now offer minimum payouts to every player in the field, ensuring that those who miss the cut still receive compensation to offset costs. Additionally, nearly 20 tournaments have committed to providing dedicated travel and lodging benefits, further easing the financial burden of a global touring schedule.
