AN ITV daytime presenter has issued a health update after she was forced off-air due to illness and rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

The TV anchor, 47, who was due to front Friday’s Lorraine show, was replaced by Andi Peters for the one-hour programme on Friday.

At the beginning of Fridays’ episode, ex CBBC star Andi, 54, addressed Ranvir Singh‘s absence.

He told viewers: “Just want to say get well soon to Ranvir who can’t be here today.

“That’s why they have drafted in a man with a bright orange shirt this morning.

“Get well soon Ranvir, we send you all of our love.”

No other details about Ranvir were released but today, the full extent of the Lorraine and Good Morning Britain’s condition came to light.

Andi told Monday’s Lorraine how, after presenting last Wednesday’s show, Ranvir was struck down by appendicitis.

She was then rushed into hospital for an operation and emergency treatment.

Dr Hilary, who was on the show sofa alongside Andi, said it was “unusual” for an adult to get the illness and said: “We usually see the condition in children.

“She will make a full recovery and be back soon.”

Appendicitis is an inflammation and infection of the large intestine.

It sparks pain in the lower abdomen and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications.

Andi then said: “Good luck Ranvir, get well soon.”

As the episode wrapped, he told how Christine Lampard would be fronting Tuesday’s show.

Previously, fans expressed their concern at Ranvir’s no show.

One wrote on X: “I hope Ranvir is ok and we’ll see her again soon!”

While another added: “Get well soon Ranvir, hope you’re not too poorly.”

Fans are used to see her replacement Andi doing the competitions on both GMB and Lorraine.

Yet he is no stranger to hosting live TV, in fact, that’s where he started.

When he was just 19, Andi found fame on the iconic BBC kids show, The Broom Cupboard.

He was well known on the CBBC after school show for his puppet Ed The Duck.

Andi was also known for fronting Live & Kicking alongside John Barrowman and Emma Forbes in the mid-90s.
