Lloyds and Halifax banking apps both down leaving customers locked out

Lloyds and Halifax went down earlier this morning, leaving some customers unable to access online and mobile banking.

Hundreds of issues were reported by users this morning, according to Down Detector.

Problems first begun just after 11am.

A spike of complaints saw almost 3,000 outages logged on the malfunction website.

According to Down Detector, 62% of people are facing issues with mobile banking at Halifax, while 30% reported online banking problems.

8% were also struggling with mobile log in.

While 67% Lloyds customers faced online banking disruption, with 32% suffering with mobile log ins.

A smaller 1% have found issues with online banking.

The number of complaints from customers has not dropped, with only dozens of people still reporting issues.

Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland are all part of the same banking group.

Bank of Scotland also had more than 100 outages reported on their system.
