LIVERPOOL are set to take a huge step towards replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold, it’s been claimed.

The Reds have been eyeing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement for the outgoing Alexander-Arnold, who will leave Anfield at the end of the season.

And the Kop club are moving quickly to secure his services.

That’s according to The Times, who claim the Merseysiders are set to trigger the defender’s £30million release clause.

A timeline for the Reds’ triggering of the Netherlands international release clause is currently unknown.

Liverpool are said to be keen on Frimpong due to his versatility as a right wingback and a right winger.
